Drug & alcohol screening conducted by Mobile Screening is 100% compliant with regulations in all state and territories.
An employer’s duty of care requires them to monitor the health of workers and conditions of the workplace for the purposes of preventing illness and injury. Drug and alcohol screening helps ensure a safer work environment by identifying employees who may be under the influence of substances that impair their judgment and reaction times. This is especially important in industries where safety is paramount, such as manufacturing, construction, transportation, and healthcare. Simply having a drug and alcohol screening program in place can discourage employees from showing up to work under the influence.
Workplace alcohol and other drugs can impact the wellbeing of all workers by introducing risks of physical accidents, injuries and violence, as well as emotional harms through antisocial behaviour, workplace bullying or a lack of morale. It can also severely impact a business financially. In Australia, it costs workplaces an estimated $6 billion per year in lost productivity.
Individual employee reports are available by the end of the day and are provided to pre-approved company employees only. We use NATA accredited laboratories for mandatory confirmatory gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS) testing of non-negative samples. It is important that employers clarify in advance how they wish to handle any issues on the day, such as non-compliance or a non-negative result.
